Fall 2023 HBCU Caravan

De Anza College has been selected as one of the host sites for the California Community College Transfer Guarantee to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Caravan this Fall. The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Main Quad. 

The event features:

  • Representatives from HBCU partner institutions  
  • Scholarship information 
  • Workshops 
  • Potential on-site admissions 
  • Prizes and music 
  • And more! 

This is a great opportunity for all students to learn more about the exciting CCC Transfer Guarantee Pathway to HBCU and meet with HBCU representatives from partner institutions. This pathway guarantees admissions to 39 partner Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Some HBCU partner institutions may be able to provide on-site admission.

Community college students, high school students, faculty and staff are invited to come and learn more about the exciting transfer guarantee program open to all student.

California Community College Transfer Guarantee Pathway to Historically Black Colleges and Universities

The CCC Transfer Guarantee Pathway to HBCU guarantees admissions to 39 Historically Black Colleges and Universities. For a list of partnered HBCUs, visit

Any California community college student with a GPA of 2.0 or higher (NOTE: certain partner HBCU will require a higher GPA) is guaranteed admission to all partner  HBCU  institutions using either of the following two options while at the California Community College:

  1. Complete an Associate degree (ADT) using the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) or the California State University General Education Breadth pattern or 

  2. Complete a minimum of 30 UC or CSU units. 

Students completing a Associates Degree (Non-ADT) are welcomed to apply to all partner institutions, however, the benefit of guaranteed admissions is not offered and all degree applicable units are subject to transcript evaluation.
