About Articulation
Articulation refers to the process of evaluating courses, or a sequence of courses, to determine whether coursework offered at a "sending" institution (e.g. De Anza College) will meet specific course requirements at a "receiving" institution (e.g. CSU, UC, or private/independent college or university) for the purposes of admission, general education (GE), lower-division major preparation and/or elective credit. Successful completion of articulated courses at De Anza assures students that identified courses will be credited toward baccalaureate degree requirements upon transfer to a college or university.
To determine if a De Anza course is articulated with a college or university, it must
appear on a formal articulation agreement between the two institutions. Students may
still transfer successfully to four-year colleges and universities without any formal
articulation agreements in place. Many private/independent and out-of-state colleges
and universities publish Transfer Guides which may provide students with general transfer
guidelines and unofficial transfer credit equivalencies for their completed coursework.
It is important to note that Transfer Guides and Transfer Credit Equivalencies are
NOT articulation agreements and should be used as an advising tool in consultation
with a De Anza counselor or advising professional or four-year college or university admissions
representative.
De Anza has established formal articulation agreements with CSU and UC campuses and other regionally accredited four-year colleges and universities located both in and outside of California.

CSU/UC
ASSIST.org is a student-transfer information system that displays reports of how course credits earned at one California Community College (CCC) can be applied when transferred to a California State University (CSU) or University of California (UC) campus and select member schools of the Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities (AICCU).
Articulation agreements between De Anza and CSU and UC campuses may be viewed by major, by department (course-to-course), and, when available, by general education (GE)-breadth on ASSIST.org.
After utilizing the features currently available on ASSIST, students may also need to visit CSU/UC campus admissions websites to view campus-specific articulation agreements 'by Major' or 'by Department.' (IMPORTANT: Only 'By major' articulation agreements show which courses are required for a major.)
