Santa Clara University Transfer Admission Agreement (TAA)

Santa Clara University: Fall 2025 Guaranteed Admission & Transfer Scholarship

Santa Clara University TAA Requirements

  1. TAAs are only for the College of Arts and Sciences (excluding Economics*), the Leavey School of Business, and the School of Engineering (excluding Computer Science*).
  2. TAAs are considered only for the Fall term.
  3. For the College of Arts and Sciences, at least two-thirds of the required subject areas must be completed at the time of submission. For example, English, Math, and Science are required, thus, two of those three areas must be complete at the time the TAA is submitted. The third subject area can be in progress at the time of submission.
  4. For both the Leavey School of Business and the School of Engineering all required courses must be completed.
  5. Unofficial or official transcripts must be submitted with the signed TAA. Keep in mind official transcripts are needed to complete the Common Application. The GPA requirement is a cumulative GPA, for all classes, from all institutions attended. A minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA is required at the time of TAA submission. 
  6. SCU TAA deadline: March 15, 2025.
    - February 1, 2025     is SCU's priority submission date, with a recommended application deadline of March 15. An approved TAA is a guarantee of admission, so applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

*For the Economics major (in the College of Arts and Sciences), and Computer Science and Engineering majors, admission is based upon space availability

SCU TAA Submission Procedure: Fall 2025

Step 1

  • Carefully review the TAA Requirements above and Required Coursework for TAA Applicants below to determine your eligibility for a TAA.

Step 2

  • Schedule an appointment with a DAC counselor (cannot be a DAC academic adviser) to write and submit a signed TAA form. DAC will forward the signed TAA along with all college transcripts to SCU.
    • IMPORTANT: Transcripts from all colleges/universities attended (excluding Foothill/De Anza) must be on file with the DAC Admissions and Records Office prior to your counseling session. If transcripts are not on file or have not been officially evaluated, there may be a delay in submitting the TAA to SCU.

Step 3

  • TAA and transcript(s) are reviewed and either approved or denied. Santa Clara University's TAA decision will be sent to you by email as promptly as possible.

Step 4

  • You must still submit your Fall 2025 application to SCU via the Common Application, no later than the April 15 deadline. However, students are encouraged to apply sooner for a quicker response.

Step 5

  • Students should email the SCU Transfer Coordinator at ahowellwilliams@scu.edu after the Common Application and application fee have been submitted. Be sure to indicate you have completed these steps and that you are a TAA applicant in the email.

    • *Web Design & Engineering major is not required to complete CHEM 1A/1AH, PHYS 4A, PHYS 4C, OR PHYS 4B. Complete one course in the Natural Science list from the transfer guide.
