Upcoming Events

FAFSA Webinar in Spanish Today

FAFSA logoThe White House Hispanic Initiative is hosting a free FAFSA webinar in Spanish tomorrow, April 17, at 4 p.m. Please register in advance to attend live or watch the recording on YouTube @FSAOutreach. The webinar is open to all students, families, college employees and anyone who provides assistance to Spanish-speaking communities.

De Anza’s Financial Aid office is also offering workshops on completing the FAFSA and California Dream Act Application (CADAA). Visit deanza.edu/financialaid/workshops to learn more.

Equity Talking Circles

Office of Equity logoThe Office of Equity’s student interns, the Equity Scholar Activists, are hosting a variety of events this month to make students feel comfortable, seen, heard and appreciated.

Native and Indigenous-identifying students are invited to attend talking circles on Thursday, April 25, and Wednesday, May 8. These will take place in MLC 250 and will focus on grounding and learning about resources at De Anza. Please register in advance.

Auto Tech Car Show and Job Fair

souped-up cars on displayThe annual Auto Tech car show is this Saturday, April 20, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in Lot E. The event, which is organized by the Auto Tech Club and the Automotive Technology Department, will also serve as a job fair, with various employers in attendance.

All makes and models of cars are welcome at the show. Spectators can enter for free, but those wishing to bring their cars will need to register at the gate by paying a $20 entrance fee per vehicle. There will be food, music and more. Visit the event website for more information.

Find Support With De Anza CONNECT

De Anza CONNECT logoAre you feeling lost or not sure where to ask for guidance? You can find resources and support through De Anza CONNECT. Use the online system to submit your questions and a member of the CONNECT team will contact you by phone to assist. To get started, click the De Anza CONNECT tile on the MyPortal apps page, or use your web browser to visit the CONNECT homepage.

Bicycle Riders: Share Your Input

If you’re a student or employee who rides a bicycle to De Anza, the College Operations office would like your input on the design and locations for new bike racks on campus. Learn more and share your thoughts during a Zoom meeting on Wednesday, April 24, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Visit deanza.edu/collegeops/bike-racks to sign up for the meeting.

Share Your Good News

Have you been accepted to a 4-year institution? Let us know which college or university you are attending by filling out the Transfer Center's Share Your Good News form. You will also have the option to be added to the center's mailing list to receive updates on events like the Transfer Achievement Celebration on Wednesday, June 5.

Underground Scholars Ambassador Program

Underground Scholars logoThe Underground Scholars Initiative offers leadership development training through its Ambassador Program, with opportunities to learn about transferring to the University of California while you build skills in communication, organizing, advocacy and more. This program is for community college students who were formerly incarcerated, previously arrested, or have had a family member incarcerated. Learn more and sign up to attend an information session on Tuesday, April 23, from 11 a.m. to noon, at deanza.edu/rising-scholars/opportunities.


Dining Hall News

Burritos in the Campus Center

Dining Services will begin serving chicken and beef burritos in the Campus Center. You can find them next to the pasta station.
