Assistance with Textbook Costs
DSPS Students: Need help covering textbook costs?
You may be eligible for up to $150 through the Book Voucher Program, awarded on a first-come, first-served basis while funds last.
To qualify, students must complete the following steps:

Received accommodations or services through the Disability Support Services office at least once in the Fall/Winter quarter

Have a Comprehensive Educational Plan for the 2025-26 academic year (Summer 2025 - Spring 2026)

All students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher

Have completed less than 150 units

Have not exceeded the three-quarter book voucher limit
Log into your De Anza MyPortal account to verify your GPA, Ed Plan, and unit status.
Application Instructions
The Schoettler Memorial Book Voucher program is available for current De Anza College DSS students only. DSS students can apply for funds by completing the attached application to purchase textbooks at the De Anza Bookstore providing that they meet all qualifications. Textbook information is available at https://www.bkstr.com/deanzastore/home.
Students will need to submit their completed application via the Adobe Sign process
by posted deadline.
Notification of application status will be confirmed via by email, informing you that the application process is completed; once you have received the confirmation your Bookstore purchase account will be setup within 48 hours, 72 if application is completed on Friday. You may then visit the De Anza College Bookstore website to complete purchases.
Important Information
- Textbooks and course materials may be purchased only for classes for which the student is enrolled and submitted on the application at De Anza College.
- If you are on a waitlist, the application will be pending until the class is added
- Include all courses that you are enrolled in at De Anza College for the applicable quarter, if textbooks and materials are not required, then state N/A on the line provided
- You must submit an additional Adobe Sign form for course(s) added after initial application submission if your class schedule has been modified
- You may only purchase items for the courses in which you are enrolled in at De Anza College
- The Book Voucher approval is per quarter, you must reapply each quarter in which the voucher is made available
- Maintain your receipt, especially if you are requesting Alternate Media services. You will be required to provide a receipt
Technology and Electronic Purchases
Technology/Electronic purchase requests for scientific calculators must be submitted via email with detailed item information along with the application. You must include the cost and a short paragraph demonstrating how the item will benefit your educational experience. This is a onetime only purchase and must be pre-approved prior to purchase. Admin approver must keep track of one-time purchase of calculator requests and get approval from division dean.

Emergency Grant for Basic Needs:
- De Anza College Resource for Basic Needs - De Anza College can provide a limited number of one-time cash grants, up to $750, for students who are struggling with hardship or an urgent expense that may interfere with their education

Apply for Book Voucher - Winter 2026
Book Voucher applications will be available online starting January 6, 2026.
As a reminder, please ensure your Education Plan is up to date for the winter quarter.
Book Voucher and Purchase Deadlines:
The Book Voucher application has closed. We are no longer accepting applications.
