De Anza Student Government

Talent Show Audition Form Due This Friday, Feb. 9

DASG logoDe Anza Student Government (DASG) will be hosting its first-ever talent show this spring.

If you are interested in performing, you must fill out an audition form by this Friday, Feb. 9, at 11:59 p.m.

Auditions will take place between noon and 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, in ATC 120. A time slot sign-up form will be emailed to participants next Monday, Feb. 10. If you have questions, please contact Phoebe at dasgprograms@deanza.edu

Pho Available Tomorrow, Feb. 4

Pho, a Vietnamese noodle soup, will be served at the pasta station in the Campus Center tomorrow, Feb. 4.

The Campus Center’s hours are 7 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

The pasta station is open from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.


Financial Aid

CADAA for Mixed-Status Families

California Student Aid Commission logoStudents from mixed-status families can apply for financial aid through the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) to be considered for all available California state aid and institutional aid.

You are in a mixed-status family if:

  • You are a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen
  • And your parents or spouse (FAFSA contributors) do not have a Social Security number (SSN).

Students who complete a CADAA can still complete a FAFSA, too. You can learn more on the California Student Aid Commission website.


New Euphrat Museum Exhibit

"Encoding Empathy"

The Euphrat Museum on campus just opened its new exhibition,Encoding Empathy,” which explores advancing technology and human touch. The artwork on display includes digitally generated images blended into traditional paintings, 3D printed sculptures, cobotically produced ceramics, pixel-mirrored prints and more.

Rise 2: 3D-printed horse pulling a harness attached to a huge gear or millThe exhibition artists include Salma Arastu, David Biedrzycki, Steve Dellicarpini, Nick Dong, Pantea Karimi, Virginia San Fratello, Robynn Smith, Siana Smith, Shannon Wright, Bing Zhang and Na Omi Judy Shintani with Colin Wright.

You can meet the artists at a reception on Saturday, March 15, from noon-2 p.m. in the Euphrat. There will be refreshments and live music.

The museum’s regular hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The museum will also be open Saturday, March 1, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., during the De Anza Flea Market, and on First Thursdays, Feb. 6 and March 6, from 5:30-7 p.m. The exhibition is open through March 20.

The museum is also open to tour groups by appointment. Call 408.864.5464 to schedule a tour.
