Fall 2026 CSU Transfer Application Timeline

Please review all university communication carefully - CSU campuses may request additional information. Deadlines and application requirements can vary by major and applicant type (e.g., international students and veterans).

October 1 – December 1, 2025*: Submit CSU Application

  • Start your CSU Application.
  • Attend a CSU application workshop to get started.
  • Fill out your application and visit us during the Transfer Center drop-in hours or schedule a counseling appointment to ask any questions before you submit.

*This is the priority application filing period. Some campuses and majors may accept applications after the deadline has passed. Deadlines may also vary for international students and veterans. 

October 1 - March 2: Apply for Financial Aid

  • Submit your 26-27 FAFSA or the California Dream Act Application
  • List all universities that you are applying to so that they can provide a financial aid estimate after your admission offer. You do not need to wait until you have been accepted.

March 2 is the priority deadline and the deadline for Cal Grants.

December 2025 – Summer 2026: Check email and CSU portals frequently

  • Look out for emails about important deadlines and next steps.
  • Create a portal on the university website when instructed. CSUs may request transcripts or additional information on your to-do list.

January 2026: Update CSU Application

  • The update will open in early January and must be completed by January 31.
  • Enter your fall 2025 grades and update winter/spring 2026 courses.
  • Update any previous semesters if you recently completed academic renewal or repeated any previous D/F grades in fall 2025 (if applicable).

Complete supplemental applications
Some campuses, such as SJSU and CSULB, require an additional application (deadlines vary).

February – March 2026: Receive CSU admission offers

  • Some campuses may send decisions earlier or later.
  • Check your email and CSU portals for admission decisions and application status.

May 1 or June 1, 2026: Accept admission

  • Deadlines may vary. (May 1 for most CSUs; June 1 or extended deadlines for some campuses).
  • Accept the admission offer and pay the enrollment deposit (if required) to secure your spot at the CSU you choose to attend.
  • Follow the next steps and meet all deadlines for transcripts, financial aid documents, orientation registration, and housing applications.

Submit Official Transcripts

  • When requested by each CSU, order official transcripts on the De Anza Myportal, under the Transcript App.
  • CSUs may request initial transcripts before or after the admission decision, with deadlines throughout January – June.
  • You will also submit your final official transcript(s) after spring 2026 and AP/IB/CLEP scores, if applicable.
  • Request CSU-GE, IGETC, or Cal-GETC certification, if applicable.
  • If you have attended other colleges, you must request transcripts directly from those schools to CSUs, even if they were submitted to De Anza.

Fall 2026 UC Transfer Application Timeline

September 1 - September 30, 2025: Submit your TAG Application (if applicable)

October 1 – December 1, 2025: Submit UC Application

  • Attend UC application and PIQ workshops 
  • Get a head start! The UC application opens on August 1. The submission window is October 1 – December 1.
  • Work on your application and visit the Transfer Center during drop-in hours or schedule a 1-1 appointment to have your questions answered before you submit.

  • UCs may email you to request additional information or clarification.
  • Some UCs will ask you to create a portal on their website and may use it to communicate important information.

January 2026: Submit the Transfer Academic Update (TAU)

  • The UC Transfer Academic Update (TAU) opens in mid-December and must be submitted by January 31.
  • Enter your fall 2025 grades and update winter/spring 2026 courses on the TAU
  • Some majors at UC Berkeley require additional forms by January 31.
  • Continue to update your application until the end of March if you make additional changes to winter/spring 2026 courses (Please note that not all UCs will review TAU updates submitted after January 31).

March - May 2026: Receive Admission Offers

  • Check your email and UC portals for admission decisions and application status.

June 1, 2026*: Accept Admission

  • Deadlines may vary. 
  • Submit the Statement of Intent to Register/Enroll and pay the deposit (if required) to secure your spot at the UC you plan to attend.
  • Follow the next steps and meet all deadlines for transcripts, financial aid documents, orientation registration, and housing applications.
  • After you are admitted, UCs may require initial official transcripts.

July 2026: Submit Official Transcript as soon as Spring grades are posted

  • Order official transcripts on the De Anza Myportal, under the Transcript App.
    • De Anza is on a quarter system, so Spring grades will not be posted by July 1. It's okay to submit the official transcript a few days late. Please request the transcript to be sent as soon as Spring grades are posted.
  • If you have attended other colleges, you need to request transcripts directly from those schools to be sent to UCs, even if they were submitted to De Anza.

July 15, 2026: Submit AP/IB scores

  • If applicable, order official AP and/or IB exam scores to be sent to the UC you will be attending.
  • Request CSU-GE or IGETC or Cal-GETC certification, if applicable (Deadline may vary).
