Register for Summer Session

New Course Registration Interface

Student Registration

Have you tried the new course registration interface? It's been available as an option in the past, but the old interface is officially retired as of today – Tuesday, May 27.

The new registration interface looks a little different, but don't worry:

All students can now register for summer session.


Course Registration System Will Be Unavailable May 31-June 3

Please Plan Ahead

The registration system will be unavailable this weekend because of planned updates for the Banner online platform.

  • The work will begin at 7 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, and should be finished by 7 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3.
  • MyPortal, Canvas and Office 365 will not be affected and will remain available.

Reminder: Graduation Is On Sunday This Year

Students Can Order Graduation Packs Now

smiling young man with grad cap and gownThis year's collegewide grad ceremony will be held on Sunday, June 29, beginning at 3 p.m. in the Santa Clara Convention Center, 5001 Great America Parkway, Santa Clara, California.

Students can now order graduation packs – including cap, gown, tassel and diploma cover – and other regalia for commencement. Orders should be placed no later than Monday, June 16, to be sure items arrive in time for the big day. Visit the campus Bookstore in the RSS Building, or place your order online.

Student Spotlight

La Voz Scores in California Journalism Awards

La Voz logoLa Voz staffers won 14 awards this month from the California Newspaper Publishers Association, which sponsors the annual California Journalism Awards to recognize outstanding examples of reporting, design, photography and multimedia journalism. Competing in the two-year college category, De Anza students Anthony Politi and Alexander Stoev won first place for Best Podcast, while Xitlaly Martinez and Joshua Hascall won first place for Best Column. Table Talks: Networking Tips and Mentoring

Students can learn how to network and practice their skills while meeting with area business representatives and executives at the Table Talks event tomorrow – Wednesday, May 28 – in Conference Rooms A&B. The event will begin with a short talk on taking the anxiety out of networking, followed by roundtable sessions where students can rotate between tables and chat with guest professionals. There will also be a drawing to give away four $50 Amazon gift cards.

This free event is co-hosted by the De Anza College Business, Computer Science and Applied Technologies Division and the Foothill College Business and Social Sciences Division, in collaboration with KeyPoint Credit Union, Cupertino Chamber of Commerce, SCORE Silicon Valley and the Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce. It’s open to students at both colleges. Please sign up in advance.


AI Summer Camp

Apply by Next Saturday, June 7

Students can apply to attend an artificial intelligence summer camp, which Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the Cal Poly Digital Transformation Hub will be hosting on Aug. 3-8 on the California Polytechnic State University campus in San Luis Obispo.

Students will form teams and work to solve challenges in the California Community Colleges system. At the end of the week, teams will pitch their ideas for prizes.

The camp will accept six students from the Foothill-De Anza Community College District. All admitted students will have their room and board covered by AWS. However, students will need to find their own method of transportation to San Luis Obispo.

The deadline to submit an application is next Saturday, June 7, at 5 p.m. AWS will reach out to admitted students directly. The application is open to students from all majors and backgrounds. No prior AI experience is required.


End-of-Year Celebrations

Students and their families can attend a variety of end-of-year celebrations in anticipation of Commencement.

Share Your Good News

Have you been accepted to a four-year institution? Let us know which college or university you are attending by filling out the Share Your Good News form. You will also have the option to be added to the Transfer Center’s mailing list to receive updates on events like the Transfer Achievement Celebrations on Monday, June 16, and Tuesday, June 17.

Rising Forward: Journeys of Transition and Transformation

Current and former students in the Rising Scholars and California Youth Leadership Corps will share their personal stories about struggle and achievement.

Everyone's invited to join the community dialogue. Snacks will be provided. PGA credit is available for faculty and staff members.

The event will take place next Tuesday, June 3, from 3-4 p.m. You can attend in person in the Multicultural Center or on Zoom.

Elected Officials Panel Next Friday, June 6

De Anza Student Government will be hosting a panel of elected officials next Friday, June 6, from 1:30-3:30 p.m., in Conference Rooms A&B. Campbell Mayor Sergio Lopez, Assemblymember Ash Kalra and Berryessa Union School District Trustee Jaria Jaug will answer questions and engage in meaningful discussions with the audience.

Spring Stock Competition Next Friday, June 6

The Mathematical Investment and Trading Society will host their spring stock competition next Friday, June 6, from 6-9 p.m., on Zoom. Please register by this Friday, May 30. You will receive the Zoom link after submitting the form. Students can participate individually or in teams to analyze and present on stock from the top 100 largest companies.

Complete the Survey

The city of Cupertino is developing an Active Transportation Plan to improve walking and biking conditions throughout the community, and your input is crucial. Please complete the survey to share your experiences, challenges and ideas.
