Types of Degree and Certificate Awards

While the number of associate in arts (A.A.) degrees awarded by De Anza has decreased over the last five years, the number of associate in science (A.S.) degrees has remained constant and the numbers of associate degrees for transfer have increased. There has been rapid growth in noncredit certificates, which were first awarded in 2021-22.

Popular Degree and Certificate Subjects

Degrees awarded in the highest numbers include Business Administration, Liberal Arts (Science, Math and Engineering Emphasis), Psychology, and Computer Science. The highest number of credit certificates were awarded in the areas of Transfer Studies for both CSU and UC, and Automotive Technology General Service Technician. The highest number of noncredit certificates were for Real Estate Salesperson, ESL Advanced Level and ESL Writing.
