Meetings

Message from Shiqi:

We are the team behind some of the biggest and most exciting events at De Anza!

The Events Committee has two key branches: Events & Flea Market.

Our Mission:

  • Plan and host DASG-endorsed events, including DASG Senate-wide initiatives and collaborations with clubs and organizations both on and off campus.
  • Foster a strong and mutually beneficial partnership between the De Anza Flea Market and DASG.

At DASG Events Committee, we value: Inclusivity, Creativity, and Impact. Through events like Welcome Week, DASG Open House, Homecoming Dance, Love & Connection Day, De-stress Days, and Mini Flea Markets, we create opportunities for students to connect, celebrate diversity, and make lasting memories.

😎Trust me, 2 years of community college can be way more than just classes and transfer—it’s about experiences, friendships, and moments that make a difference. Being involved in the Events Committee, you will experience all. Whether you're here to attend, volunteer, or help plan the next big thing, we’re excited to have you as part of the family!

Message from Rami, Flea Market Liaison:

Hey everyone! My name is Rami Abukhater, and I’m one of the flea market liaisons here at De Anza. I’ve been attending the flea market since I was a kid, and I’ve always recognized its importance to the college and the local culture of Cupertino. I ran for this position because I wanted to make a positive impact on this amazing market, which brings together a thriving community of shoppers and vendors from all across the Bay Area. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to work with the DASG Events Committee and support the De Anza Flea Market. Everything I wear is from the flea market! Everything I do is for the flea market! I live and breath flea market! See y'all on the first Saturday of every month, at parking lots A and B for the worlds best flea market! 😉

Message from Anish, Flea Market Liaison:

Hello! I am Anish Shamarao, the other flea market liaison at De Anza College. I have been with the Flea Market committee within DASG for about a year and a half and and I can confidently say that its impact on the Cupertino community is tremendous. From creating a social environment to promoting sustainable practices and offering affordable items, it provides an experience next to none on campus. I joined DASG to be able to further elevate, expose, and contribute to this event in hopes of watching it grow in the future. The flea market along with the myriad of other events that the Events committee creates are all made with a single purpose; to strengthen the bonds between people. If you enjoy promoting community, garnering your creativity, and looking out for others, come join us in Events! 🙂

Message from Lauren, Event Coordinator:

Hiii there! My name is Lauren Hartono, and I'm here to make campus more interesting by creating events for students here at De Anza! Like many of you, I am an international student who aims to network and meet with new people, and I enjoy the idea of conversing with people from all over the world. Each quarter, we strive to bring something unique to campus—whether it's fun social events, celebrations, or opportunities to connect with students. If you're looking for a way to get involved, meet new people, and make the most of your time at De Anza, come to our meetings every Tuesday 🫢 W Events

Message from Jin Gi, Event Coordinator:

Hello, My name is Jin, and I'm an international student from South Korea. I checked the Events Committee website for the first time when I was running for my role. Checking this message might mean you're also running for the Events Coordinator or public who's curious about the Events Committee. I just want to say Events is a really important committee in DASG. School spirit is really on to us. I would say our goal is to make De Anza student's college life experience more colorful. It might be tiring planning every event, but please don't forget why you're in the Events committee. Wish you all the best. 🤓
