• Luca: We do budget deliberations (approximately 9 hours) in the month of January to deliberate on budget applications. This work is very rewarding.

Icebreaker and Welcome

This item is to welcome the new senators and interns to the finance committee and lay out the goals and expectations for this year.

• All students participated in the ice breaker activity.

New Finance Video

This item is to discuss potential changes to the finance committee introduction video. 

Issues noticed in the video: 

• • Needs subtitles
  • Sound improvement
  • Clip Transitions can use improvement
  • Focus on 3 or 4 people to make/edit video. 
  • Reduce the jokes and memes so it can be officially published on the webpage.
  • Be more professional

Public Member Improvements:

• Public member mentioned less moving around within the video. 
• Public member mentioned that you can improve mic quality using Adobe/AI and use Adobe Premier. 
• Public member mentioned adding more clips of groundwork that is done. 
• Public member mentioned collaborating with Film/TV production major on campus. 
• Public member appreciated getting the clear, main points of what the Finance Committee does. 

Aditya: Will review all points made; shoot the video and gain additional input to make any necessary improvements; may call out for intern volunteers to be featured in finance video.

• Suggestions on how to promote this item more effectively were given.

• Yan Ming Teng: Marketing committee requested to take a selfie with interns; please stay for a few minutes after the meeting to do so.
• Aditya: Thank you to everyone who participated today; the first meeting is always intimidating.

• Luca: If you are lost, that is perfectly okay and perfectly normal when it is your first few times coming to a Finance Committee Meeting.
