VTA Giving Out Uber Vouchers
During the current transit strike, the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) is offering $5 off Uber rides, up to two times per day, when trips start and end at VTA stops.
The voucher will automatically be applied when the Uber app detects that a rider is near a VTA bus or light rail stop. However, you should still check before starting your trip. You will initially be charged a $2.50 fare. The $5 voucher will then be applied automatically to every qualifying trip. Any additional costs after the $5 voucher will also be paid by the customer.
The VTA stops closest to campus are Stelling Road and Pepper Tree Lane, Stevens Creek Boulevard and Stelling Road, Stevens Creek Boulevard and Mary Avenue, and the stop on North Campus Drive.
VTA is offering these vouchers through the remainder of the strike. You can read more at vta.org/Uber-Voucher-VTA.
The Resource Hub has a limited number of $25 Uber gift cards still available – one per eligible student per week. These are being distributed based on need and verification of enrollment in classes taught in person, or employment on campus.
Check for strike updates on the VTA website and VTA social media accounts.
