    Welcome and Introductions

Ms. Grey welcomed everyone to the new academic year and everyone introduced themselves.

    Purpose

The purpose of the Campus Facilities Team was reviewed. The Campus Facilities Team discusses and approves campus wide improvements and funding for improvements. In addition, the group reviews, makes recommendations and approves updates to the Facilities Master Plan.

Review and Approve Notes from April 30, 2019

The notes from the April 30, 2019 meeting were reviewed and approved as corrected.

    Bike Corral Presentation

The DASB offers students a bike loan program, which includes a bicycle, helmet, lock, free use of the bicycle corral and the use of two (2) on-campus repair stations. The goal of the program is to provide alternative transportation at a cost savings to students. The program also offers the use of the bicycle corral, located adjacent to the Registration and Student Services building, for students and staff who would like to store their own bicycle in the corral for a small fee.

DASB students Cosgrove and Hoang gave a detailed presentation on the DASB Bike program with background, statistics and current life cycle of the bicycles. Cosgrove and Hoang explained there is an urgent need to cover the bicycle corral. The corral was not built with a cover and the bicycles have no protection from the elements. As a result, the bicycles have extensive damage, maintenance and repair needs.

Questions from the group were presented about cost and the type of structure. Grey mentioned if the presentation was approved it would move forward for further cost analysis and research. The possible costs may include DSA (Department of the State Architect) and could to be in the range of $80,000. Once the quotes and a plan for the cover are completed, the project will be brought back to the committee.

The project was approved and will move forward for cost analysis.

    Facilities Master Plan Update Draft

Grey presented the Facilities Master Plan Draft update document for the group to review, discuss and approve. The draft supports the exploration and discussion of on-campus housing as part of the Facilities Master Plan update. The Facilities Master Plan full update is scheduled to begin in 2020.

Cini expressed there had not been adequate time to review the draft document before the meeting and asked for more specific information. Grey shared the document was a draft, it had been just been finalized late this morning and was posted to the agenda as soon as it became available.

The draft document was approved and will move on to the other shared governance groups.
