My Other Life
Here's some information about the other part of my life ... when I'm not at De Anza.
My favorite activity is traveling around the world, experiencing new cultures. On
a more regular basis, in the summer, I love to camp,
play at the beach, and hike in the mountains. In the winter, I pretend to ski, both
cross country and downhill. I am pretty equally inept at both,
but I enjoy them. I salsa dance and also love to read non-fiction, especially crime
stories and biographies about people who have
"changed the world" or overcome great barriers to succeed.
I met my husband, Dan, when I was a student intern at General Electric's Corporate
Research and Development. Dan worked there.
We've been married 36 years. Our three children attended De Anza. They participated
in Campus Abroad to Vietnam,
Middle College, College Advantage, online courses, and regular on-campus courses.
From De Anza, they went on to
graduate from UCSD, Santa Clara University, and Stanford University.
I believe in giving back to the community and making the world better for future generations.
I am a strong supporter of our veterans. My son is a captain in the U.S. Air Force.
I volunteer in a variety of organizations and work hard to help those who may need
it.
This philosophy is core to my sense of being.
