Reviewed the letter drafted to President Holmes

Shagun K: We should shift the order of information to confirm our understanding of this project. Michele LB: Agrees, the shifting of order gives context to our viewpoint and our perspective we’re starting from. So the reader has a better understanding of where those questions come from, and how they relate to our understanding of our role.

Jennifer M: Agrees with the shifting of orders

Amy H: asks to move the revisions after the discussion of the walk

    3:48 pm

Committee is discussing the tour of VPAC, Flint, AQuad, Campus Center Basement, RSS Building to gain further understanding of the campus in order for the committee to carry out our work.

The purpose of the walk is to identify which services need to be moved to a new building, what the programs do, where they are now, and what square footage is needed.

Tina L: We could do a fast tour of everything in 2 hours, but if we want to look at the interior, it would take close to 3 hours.

Daniel S: has keys to VPAC and Aquad, can show either separately in case the dates don’t work everyone

Poll: One big tour or two shorter tours?

Majority agrees on one big tour.

Tina L: We can use 3 hours to walk, and talk while walking. And then use the remaining 1 hour to discuss in a conference room. We can’t go into flint, but we can walk around it to get a sense of the scale of our site.

Tina L: I can make a walk map for reference, including the route we’re walking, which services we’re looking at and what are the square footages. This way we can get a sense of what programs have the need for a new space and the reason for it.

Daniel S: Has a sheet for square footages. Sent in chat.

Michele LB: expresses the need for this new task force to get more student input in terms of how the new building needs to be and what needs to be in them. Looking at having a service for a student building that is inclusive not only of all services, but also having a space for students to utilize and gather.

Hyon Chu YB: suggested a field trip going to another university that has recently erected a new student union building, so we can compare and contrast our buildings to other constructions.

Tina L: We can think about what’s the most ergonomic way to explore our campus when they are not late for an a

Amy: When are we doing this walk?

    Jennifer M: Proposed June 2nd, 2pm-5pm.

Poll: Task force agrees on timing

Tina L: Wear comfortable shoes, hats and sunblock, bring water

    Meeting Adjourned at 4:27.
