Key Updates
DASG Project Proposition: Ride / Transportation
- Discussion on carpooling as a potential transportation solution for students and staff.
- Current transportation options (VTA, Hopper) are limited to Santa Clara County.
- Considerations include:
- Volunteer hours and incentives such as exclusive parking
- CWID verification and driver screening
- Providing contact information to facilitate connections (not formal coordination)
- Hyon-Chu will serve as the contact point for DASG carpooling efforts.
Parking
- Approximately 75% of campus community reported dissatisfaction with current parking conditions (per Survey).
- Flea Market operations (Lots A & B) significantly impact parking layout:
- Existing striping supports vendor booth logistics
- Re-striping (e.g., diagonal lines) would complicate Flea Market planning
- Discussions at the Chancellor level are ongoing regarding potential redesign and improvements.
Resource Allocation and Program Planning (RAPP)
- RAPP meets weekly (1.5 hours):
- Fall/Spring: Focus on faculty hiring requests and prioritization
- Winter: Review of program reviews
- Current structure includes 5 classified representatives
- Discussion around subcommittee structure and faculty hiring processes (2–3 year terms)
Election Committee
- Members: Connor, Tracy, and Leah
- Nomination process:
- Nomination form to be distributed
- Candidates will have the option to accept or decline before final ballot
- Email announcement expected soon to initiate nominations.
Professional Development
- Professional Development Day scheduled at Foothill College on March 20
