Faculty and Staff Housing    Location: A new facility recently opened in Mountain View, with another location in Palo Alto.  Availability: 22 apartments have been filled, and 28 apartments remain available for qualifying faculty and staff.    Requirements: Applicants must meet minimum income and asset requirements, as it is classified as affordable housing.    Process: The district has already gone through the initial lottery system. Any qualifying member who applies now has a "very strong possibility" of securing a unit. Cost: Rents are based on the median average of the county. Pricing information is intended to be available on the Faculty Staff Housing website.
Student Housing    Current Status: The district acquired a property in July 2025. As of the current meeting, 55 students are living in 15 apartments.  Construction: A complete teardown and renovation will begin in June to meet EdCode and specific student housing standards.  The current "legacy residents" (those living there before the district purchase) will be moving out in June to facilitate this work.  Capacity: After approximately one year of construction, the capacity will increase by 300, bringing the total to between 350 and 370 students.
    2:20 p.m. Creative Arts Update

    I
    Sciacchitano
Project Overview:  Design Partners: Swinerton (Construction) and DLR Group (Design). Current Phase: Design verification is complete; the project is now moving into the Schematic Design phase.  Location: The new building will be constructed on the site of the former Flint Center. Space Allocation & Relocations: Building A8: To be repurposed for Ceramics.    Relocated Departments: Programs moving from A4, A5, A6, A7, parts of A9, and parts of the ATC (including Graphic and Interactive Design and Art History) will move into the new building and A8.  User Input: Regular meetings with Creative Arts stakeholders are being held to iterate on floor plans and design details. Project Timeline: Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) Target: Fall 2026.  Construction Start: Targeted for Spring/Summer 2027. Key Comments Skager: Noted the process has been highly communicative and organized, with a focus on working with core users on design iterations. Cervantes: Emphasized the "complicated dance" currently taking place between infrastructure requirements, design goals, and budget constraints.
    2:30 p.m. PE Update I
    Sciacchitano
Major project with a budget of approximately $55 million, funded 75% by the state and 25% locally. Scope: Full renovation including structural/seismic upgrades, utility updates, and interior improvements for students and staff.    Schedule: Initial drawings and programming are complete.  Submissions have been sent to the state for approval (expected in 4–6 weeks).  Construction anticipated to begin Summer/Fall 2027.  Swing Space: Planning is underway to secure temporary space for athletics and the PE department before construction begins. Employee Wellness Note: Currently, there is no plan to include a public or employee-specific wellness center in this design due to budget restrictions and high student demand for the space.

Cervantes: Physically check the pavers/tiles in the main quad by the water fountain for trip hazards and submit a work order for any issues found.
Panic Button Status & Maintenance Issue. The panic button in the Student Health Services clinic is currently non-functional.  During a previous emergency, the alarm service indicated that the system might be outdated and require a full IT/network renewal to be reactivated. Acosta: Technical Explanation: Panic buttons often stop functioning after being pressed if they are not manually "released" by an officer. Once released, the system resets for future use.   Immediate Action Item: Police will visit the Student Health Services office to perform a formal test. The system will be placed on "test mode" to verify connectivity and ensure the buttons are fully operational. Place a work order to request / report panic button issues and copy Cervantes/Acosta.
