    Introductions

    Grey began the meeting and all present introduced themselves.


    Approve Notes from December 5, 2017

    Grey asked for the approval of the notes from the December 5, 2017 meeting. The notes were approved.


    HVAC update

    Grey shared information from the District Facilities Department Energy Manager. The ATC cooling tower project has been funded with over $1M in funding from Proposition 39. In addition an engineering firm has been selected for the L Quad cooling problems and will go to the Board of Trustees for approval in February or March with possible repairs to be completed in March or April.

    Grey asked Cini about the L Quad HVAC issues and if there had been any problems with heating as opposed to air conditioning. Cini, who teaches class in the L Quad explained that some L Quad classrooms had lost heat for a few days in December 2016 but the heating problem seemed to be fixed.  Cini noted that there had been several air conditioning problems in Spring, Summer and Fall quarter of last year with some classrooms in the L Quad experiencing an extreme lack of cooling and air flow. Cini mentioned she has brought these concerns up numerous times on behalf of both faculty and students.  In addition to this issue, Cini shared she has been getting numerous complaints from faculty about the length of time it is taking to get keys and the entire key process itself.


    ADA FF&E project update

    Lockwood shared progress related to the review and assessment of ADA compliant furniture in labs and classrooms on campus. Project will be funded through Measure C


    Construction update

    Grey shared progress updates for campus construction projects. Campus signage project is nearly completed. The Flint Center parking garage punch list items are almost completed. The campus lighting project should be wrapping up in February.  De Anza received additional funding to supply existing lights with retrofit kits to change to LED lighting. The CDC roof is done, E2 project is almost completed. The baseball is still growing and should be completely rooted in a few more weeks. The soccer field is slated for completion toward the end of February. The football is undergoing warranty work and additional grading has been added to the project. The Planetarium is undergoing HVAC work and roofing work. The bleachers in PE 2 will soon be motorized and funding was provided by PE maintenance fund.

    Cooke shared the Flint Center Parking Garage irrigation is in and includes a drip system for all existing trees.


    Discussion

    Gannon inquired about the mural in the L quad and sealing the mural.  Grey will look into and also follow up on the pavement striping near the KCES building.
