IDEAA Presentation and OER Resource Review
At the Curriculum Committee, we are committed to advancing equitable and accessible
education through the promotion and integration of Open Educational Resources (OER). As part of our mission, we also embrace the principles of IDEAA: Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Anti-Racism, and Accessibility, which guide all of our efforts in curriculum development and review. Here's how
these priorities align with our work:
Key Focus Areas:
- Evaluation: Encouraging discipline experts to assess OER materials to ensure they meet course requirements, academic standards, and align with IDEAA principles.
- Integration: Exploring innovative strategies to incorporate OER into course outlines, enhancing accessibility, reducing costs for students, and promoting equitable outcomes.
- Equity Training: Offering equity-focused training opportunities for Curriculum Committee members to ensure OER adoption supports the diverse needs of our students and reflects the core values of IDEAA.
Explore and Share OER Resources:
We encourage you to explore and share these excellent OER resources with your divisions
and department chairs:
- LibreTexts – A comprehensive repository of OER materials across disciplines.
- ASCCC OERI – A curated collection tailored specifically for California Community Colleges.
Your feedback and insights are essential as we work toward creating a curriculum that
embodies the principles of IDEAA and empowers students through equitable access to education. Please feel free to
reach out with any questions, suggestions, or ideas to further support OER adoption
and integration. Together, we can build a more inclusive and accessible educational
environment.
