College Email Account Information


The Office of College Life can help students with issues related to their college email and Microsoft 365 accounts. Before reaching out, please review the information below — most common issues are answered on the self-service pages linked here.

💡 Microsoft Sign-In — Important for All Students

Whenever any website or app asks for your Microsoft Sign In (e.g. Microsoft 365, Office, Outlook), always enter user@fhda.edu in the "Email, phone, or Skype" field — not your personal email.

   

📧 College Email Account


Your student college email is set up through MyPortal. Go to the Student College Email icon in the Apps section, and read the instructions and FAQ on that page.

  • Your college email is only active while you are enrolled. It is deactivated three months after your last quarter of enrollment.
  • After registering for a class, wait at least 5 hours before requesting an email address.
  • If you haven't received a confirmation email within 24 hours of submitting your application, return to the Student College Email page in MyPortal and try the Login link.

   

💼 Microsoft 365


Microsoft 365 gives you access to Office apps and cloud storage through your student account. Visit the Microsoft 365 for Students page for full setup instructions.

  • Your Microsoft 365 account is only active while you are enrolled. It is deactivated after your last quarter of enrollment.
  • Always use user@fhda.edu (not your personal email) when signing in to any Microsoft app or service.

If you've reviewed the pages above and are still having trouble, the Office of College Life may be able to help. Send an email from your personal email account to collegelife@deanza.edu and include all of the following information:

  3. Are you enrolled in any classes for the current quarter?: 
  4. Are you enrolled in any classes for the upcoming quarter?: 
  5. Are you currently or have you ever been a Student Employee or other type of employee at De Anza College or Foothill College?: 
  6. Cell/Mobile phone number: 
  7. Personal email address: 
  8. College email address (if applicable):
    • This is an address starting with LastnameFirstname ending in @student.deanza.edu, @student.foothill.edu, @deanza.edu, @foothill.edu, or @fhda.edu. Note: cwid@fhda.edu is not your email address — it is your Microsoft Account Username. To verify your email, click your profile icon in Outlook and select View Account.
  9. State the issue(s) you are having with your college email and/or Microsoft 365 account: 
  10. Copied and pasted text (not images) of all error messages: 
  11. Copied and pasted URLs (web addresses) for all error messages (text, not images): 
  12. Screenshots of all error messages showing the full browser windows including both the messages and the addresses (images): 
  13. Any other relevant information:
