Amy Huang DASG President If a leader cannot lead with purpose and empathy, the team is good as none. As a current Senator and Public Relations Officer of Marketing serving DASG, I build my work on a foundation of humility, transparency and communication. I strongly believe the priority of our leadership is to foster and inspire others to achieve beyond ordinary. Jenny Trinh DASG Vice President In an effort to widen my perspective on the student body, I've participated in events from many aspects of student life in addition to my duties working for De Anza DSPS, serving as ACM Club Co-President, and several committees in DASG. As Vice-President, I aim to continuously strive to make De Anza a safe and enriching experience for all. I've learned that being a leader is being empathetic, patient, and communicative. Miriam Kan DASG Chair of Student Services and Feedback As someone who is passionate about serving and assisting others, I hope to contribute to the community by making changes and improvements to the school. As a first-year student at De Anza, I have realized the great influence of student government on campus services and student opportunities. By joining DASG, I would like to encourage building a supportive community on campus and ensure that student concerns and interests are heard. Alysa Ngo DASG Chair of Student Services and Feedback As someone who wasn't always used to making their voice heard, I want to advocate for those who had great concerns, but sometimes didn't feel comfortable enough to share them. What's so great about our community is that we have so many diverse voices, which are meant to be heard and listened to. De Anza also has a plethora of resources that haven't been taken advantage of simply because students aren't informed about them. Jessica Lukius DASG Chair of Marketing and Communications Considering my experience as a social media manager for certain online brands, I am ready to embrace the opportunity to contribute my skills. I am a confident leader with strong desire for continuous development. I also communicate very well and have accustomed to dealing with various personalities. Amrit Kaur Gill DASG Chair of Equity and Diversity I am running for chair of EnD because I want to leave a better campus than the one I found. It is crucial that we create tangible change. I want to create an initiative that sheds light on harassment that De Anza students and staff experience. To create a safe campus, people need to feel heard, making it essential we have uncomfortable conversations. One of the things that makes De Anza beautiful is diversity. Kenneth Wong DASG Chair of Programs and Events From where I stand, students being a component of the campus have the responsibilities to create a better learning environment and community. For instance, enhancing coordination between different clubs in campus, providing a diverse and safe place to learn and most importantly, reflecting student's voices to the officials. Mohammad Khan DASG Chair of Legislative Affairs I believe that there is a resolute difference that an individual in a position of power can make; I believe in the intuition of the De Anza student, who has had to overcome more significant, more traumatizing adversities, can thoroughly assess and carefully determine that individual. The vagueness of incessant platitudes, whose industrialized dissemination cheapens the conversation of public service, isn't needed here, at a time when leadership necessitates the advent of the brave, the bold; we need somebody with existing plans, incorporating both theory and execution, to solve the insecurities that are facing us, from homelessness to food insecurity. 12 Abigail Sun DASG Chair of Flea Market Hi, everyone! Ruihan Sun is my name, but you can call me Abigail. This year, I am running for DASG Senator. As a school and linked community member, I have a passion for helping people and doing something for them. A senatorial campaign is a perfect way for me to accomplish that goal. As an international student has given me the ability to speak from multiple points of view, knowing that cultures differ and recognizing what makes them unique. DASG Chair of Inter Club Council (ICC)

Khanh Ngo DASG Chair of Inter Club Council (ICC) I joined the Inter-Club Council during my first year at De Anza, and I fell in love with being involved in school activities and taking on a student leadership position. I was inspired by so many people to help form an inclusive community and create more opportunities for students. I believe that becoming a DASG Senator would help me play a bigger role in contributing my work and passion to the student body, especially the clubs, and also achieve my goal, which is to build genuine connections. Cedric Buenviaje DASG Chair of Inter Club Council (ICC) As the current ICC Chair of Club Affairs, I have seen and helped students work tirelessly to start clubs, recruit members, and hold events, despite obstacles brought by the virtual environment. Aryayeshu Singh De Anza College Student Trustee "Equity can never become a reality in education if it's viewed as charity instead of a professional obligation." These words by Anthony Muhammad embody my ideals as I run for the De Anza Student Trustee position - to advocate for equitable resources for students at De Anza. "Equity isn't handing a kid a laptop. It's knowing the systemic conditions that led to the lack of the laptop and working to mitigate them." Pierce Tao De Anza College Student Trustee I want to become the De Anza Student Trustees, because I feel a strong need for student voices and input to be heard. My goal is to create a more supportive environment and overall better college experience. The students are a part of our district, however they don't have enough of an impact on decisions being made. Due to the lack of exposure, many people don't know about the information talked about during board and senate meetings. I plan on finding more efficient and useful ways for students to receive information and to let their voices be heard. Clear Choice

19 Soham Mirajkar DASG Senator I believe in equality and equity to all norms and measures. Currently being a freshman at De Anza and experiencing a whole quarter online, I know the stress and burden we students undergo while learning online. The sheer lack of hands-on learning and communication is missing from a student's life which we apparently are longing for. While being on the senate, I would try my best to face each and every challenge with just and fair measures and ensure equity throughout the council. My goal would also be to inculcate new student fairs and opportunities to be on-campus and also to adhere to the laws and ordinances a senator needs to abide by.

Wei Quan Lai DASG Senator Hi everyone, My name is Wei Quan and I am running as a Senator for the DASG. If elected I will ensure that all students at De Anza are provided with the best college experience. Due to the pandemic, I believe all students, including myself, encounter significant challenges and obstacles. Therefore, I will contribute my efforts to create a more adaptable learning environment for students. As a senator, I will collaborate with my colleagues to provide a conducive platform for students to voice out their concerns. Hence, amplify student voices to promote and encourage equity all throughout campus.

Aditi Sharma DASG Senator I am eager to join the DASG Senate because I want to help voice students' concerns, highlight interesting college information through fun seminars, and find other ways to contribute. I believe being an international student would help me bring a unique and varied approach to student issues. I would work hard to make students', and my, college experience more satisfying. My goals are to learn about the different communities I come across, form enriching bonds with my peers, and develop my leadership skills by stepping out of my comfort zone, as I move towards transferring to a 4-year college.

Shihan Wang DASG Senator I hope to be a DASG Senator to achieve other students' resources and benefits, improve connections, and listen to students' voices. As an international student, I like to communicate with others, think of others, and listen to their own stories from different cultural backgrounds and ethnicities. I understand how it feels when studying abroad alone. So I hope to try my best to give them solutions. I'm ready to be here as a party of the DASG community member and always be there for help. In this way, the person who takes will work be meaningful and valuable.

Srishti Ganu DASG Senator As a DASG Senator, I want to give back to the De Anza community by offering my service and joining the governance processes. I believe I can bring the diverse voices of my fellow students to the forefront of student government, improving the environment at De Anza. My goals also involve building connections with more people in the De Anza student body and creating a positive impact on the school.

Eren Saglam DASG Senator I would like to be a part of this wonderful community because I am passionate about improving the lifestyle and experience of students at De Anza and would like to make sure that everyone's voice is heard.

Ei Ei Khaing DASG Senator It has always given me great pleasure to help others. As a DASG Senator, I hope to represent and assist the student body while spreading generosity, altruism, and joy - as Richard Dawkins puts it, "Let us try to teach generosity and altruism because we are born selfish." I aim to navigate the role under the guidance of empathy and compassion, and I will try to be a student's voice whenever they need one; I will always be a weapon in their arsenal.

Morris Chang DASG Senator My goal is to be more actively connected to the school's program. Provide students with better educational experiences, transfer to a 4-year university, and ensure students know how to use all the resources DASG and the school provides. As a senate, I hope to help promote students' voices and use this opportunity to make De Anza College an enjoyable place to study.

Isaac Lim DASG Senator My name is Isaac Lim and I will be running as a senator this year. Being a DASG intern for almost two quarters now, I have experienced and understood the direct impact and influence the De Anza Senate has on the wellbeing of the student body. Being part of the DASG will test my leadership and coordination skills to effectively make the best possible decisions to benefit our community. It would be my honor to serve as a representative for De Anza's diverse student body and take part in next year's senate.

Lydia Wong DASG Senator I want to become a DASG Senator because I want to advocate for students' rights and concerns. I believe community college is a place where students can take advantage of excellent opportunities and have a positive, impactful experience. As part of the student government, I want to ensure that De Anza is active and focused on continually improving student experiences, and is fully invested in student success. I believe every individual's voice is meaningful, and I will work to guarantee advocating student voices is the priority of the De Anza Student Government.

Francis Chan DASG Senator I see this as an opportunity to improve every student's college experience. As a senator, I am able to address students' concerns and make contributions to enhance student engagement in college. Also, I want to build up better interpersonal skills and make new friends while working with different people.

Edith Chan DASG Senator As an international student, I understand the stress of being in a brand new environment, not knowing where to locate resources and get involved, especially during this disorienting time of the pandemic. Thus, I aim to join DASG to make resources and opportunities more accessible to students, ensuring they make the most out of their time at De Anza. If elected as a DASG Senator, I aim to respond to students' concerns, elevate the voice of students, and look for ways to build quality interactions regardless of the pandemic situation, creating a community where everyone feels like they belong.

32 Nathanael Sjukur DASG Senator I would love to be a DASG Senator as this would give me the opportunity to be more involved in our school's activities and events, thus allowing me to help all our students have a more rich and full college experience. I would love to contribute my time and my ideas to the DASG, and I hope that by being a part of this team, I would be able to make our De Anza community more tight-knit and well-connected!

Hank Chen DASG Senator I'm Hank Chen. The reason I want to become a senator is because I have found that the biggest problem in DA now is students' willingness to participate in activities and their engagement. So, I really hope that I can participate in the Programs and Events Committee and Flea Market Committee to solve this problem. My goal is to work with other colleagues to create more enriching events and modify the former events. I have plenty experiences in planning events. For instance, I've created a volunteer program as a secretary of Math Club, so I'm very confident about this goal.
