Support Programs and Degrees That Prepare Students for Careers in Social Change

De Anza’s California Youth Leadership Corps, ethnic studies programs and the associate degree for transfer in Social Justice Studies help prepare students for careers in social change. These programs need campus support, as well as more support for their career services.

Educate college about new Ethnic Studies GE requirement and the need to hire more positions in IIS.

Engage with Villages to collaborate, inform/invite counselors to collaborate as well.

Winter 2025

Develop career resources for careers in social change. This can include building a website of resources, networking opportunities, identifying community partners who are hiring, cover letter/resume assistance for student applicants, etc.

Spring 2025

Develop ethnic studies programs once state has finalized the model transfer curriculum.
