Hybrid Electric Vehicles
Course Description
This course focuses on understanding the functions of automotive hybrid propulsion systems and the operating characteristics of hybrid drive systems. It involves the integration of high voltage power supplies and energy storage systems, as well as the fundamental operations of DC to DC converters. Additionally, it explores the correlation between internal combustion engines and motor generators, the purpose and configuration of regenerative braking systems, and the functionality of hybrid transmission systems and power splitting devices. The course also covers the utilization of the high expansion ratio cycle, the importance of understanding safety considerations when servicing hybrid electric vehicles, the use of specialized diagnostic equipment for hybrid electrical systems and their related subsystems, the appropriate procedures for repairing hybrid electrical systems, and the maintenance and servicing requirements for hybrid vehicles.
