Ecology and Evolution
Course Description
This course covers the principles of ecology and evolution, including the ecology of populations, communities, ecosystems and biomes, as well as the evolution of populations and the origin of species and higher taxa. The laboratory portion of the course includes a research project designed, researched and presented by students.

BIOL 6C.-03Y: This is an online lecture with a required in person laboratory class. The lecture does have scheduled weekly meeting times. The laboratory meets each week on scheduled days and times as noted in the class listing. Masking will be required in on campus classes. Students must have access to a computer, the internet and an individual email address. Most De Anza classes will use the Canvas course management system. We recommend a laptop or desktop computer to successfully complete the course; a tablet or phone may not be adequate for all assignments and tests.
