This course will cover the chemical classification of nutrients and their functions within the human body, the effects of nutritional deficiencies and excesses, and the relationship of dietary intakes to health and disease.

BIOL-045.-50Z: This is an online lecture. The class does not have scheduled meetings and can be completed independently each week on the student's own time. Exams will take place on April 30, May 14, May 29, June 11 and June 25. Students will have a choice of 3 times to take the 50 minute exams: 5 pm on the DeAnza campus, 7 pm online, or 8 pm online, both while on ZoomStudents must have access to a computer, the internet and an individual email address. Most De Anza classes will use the Canvas course management system. We recommend a laptop or desktop computer to successfully complete the course; a tablet or phone may not be adequate for all assignments and tests.
