CIS 502
Designing Solutions with AI

Course Description

Building on the problem-solving skills developed in the previous course, students in this course will focus on solutions that address system-level complexity. Students will learn to design whole-system solutions, validate assumptions before building, and integrate insights from multiple domains. Working individually and in teams, students will move from design through prototyping to delivery. The course emphasizes moving beyond simply completing tasks to creating measurable outcomes for stakeholders, a shift that requires human judgment about value, context, and tradeoffs. These skills are valuable across many industries: technology, healthcare, finance, consulting, manufacturing, and government, where professionals must navigate complex systems and deliver meaningful results.
