Gerontology Nursing Clinical


Course Description

This course focuses on the application of theoretical concepts to the nursing care of older adults experiencing complex health challenges and chronic conditions. Emphasizing patient-centered, evidence-based practice, students will integrate the nursing process, critical thinking, and clinical reasoning to provide culturally competent and safe care in acute and long-term care settings. Learning experiences will include direct patient care, clinical simulations, interdisciplinary collaboration, and observational activities to enhance professional development and competency in gerontological nursing. Special emphasis is placed on cultural competency, patient advocacy, and the use of healthcare technologies to improve outcomes for older adults.
