De Anza College Farmers’ Market Joins PCFMA’s Family of Markets

Farmers Market Sunday 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Cupertino, CA (July 26, 2024) – The Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association (PCFMA) is thrilled to announce it will assume management of operating the De Anza College Farmers’ Market, previously known as the Cupertino Farmers’ Market, starting Sunday, August 4th, 2024.

This exciting transition follows a careful selection process by the Foothill-De Anza Community College District, which chose PCFMA during its June 26th meeting of the District’s Board of Trustees. This decision underscores PCFMA’s established expertise and excellence in operating community markets across the Bay Area. Recognizing the importance of continuity, PCFMA and the District agreed to allow the previous operator to continue through the end of July.

PCFMA’s mission is to support California farmers and communities by providing farmers’ markets for diverse Bay Area neighborhoods. In alignment with this mission, members of PCFMA’s Operations staff have conducted outreach and engaged directly with market vendors to discuss the upcoming changes and extend the opportunity to continue in the market. All vendors who were part of the market prior to August 4th are welcomed back, and PCFMA has taken additional steps to ease in the transition, such as waiving all application fees to facilitate their inclusion. The market will continue in its current location—De Anza College Parking Lot B—and retain its regular hours on Sundays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

“We are thrilled to take over management of the De Anza College Farmers’ Market,” said Elisabeth Garon, Director of Operations at PCFMA. “Our goal is to build upon the market’s foundation and create an even more vibrant and engaging experience for both vendors and customers. We are committed to a seamless transition and ensuring that the community continues to enjoy the fresh, local products they love.”

With its headquarters in Concord, CA, the Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association is a non-profit organization founded in 1988 that operates Certified Farmers Markets in six counties of the San Francisco Bay Area.
