II. Annual Program Review Update: Final review of APRU moved to next week.
III. Our Core?
An interactive activity to encourage dialogue about the philosophical foundation upon which the college is built - “What is our core?” was facilitated by E. Norte. The same activity took place in the Academic Senate on 2/14 and earlier in the day on 2/15. The general sense was that people felt it was good to start the upcoming restructuring with a shared vision. Some of the comments: remembering that the human element is critical. Students felt that the overall experience in and out of the classroom were important elements of the college. It would be nice to have a mixed group of staff, students and faculty participating in a similar conversation.
Espinosa-Pieb reinforced the concept that the college must and will come out of this situation with strong viable programs. But, the process to get there at this point is very complex. Tomaneng reminded that group that the work that has been done by the IPBT on the program review documents thus far has be very thoughtful and should lend to the process in a very real way. She encouraged the IPBT members to start their review of past program reviews and the district program review data.
