At the start of the meeting Christina Espinosa-Pieb reminded all current and formal voting members of the IPBT that agreement had been reached to compensate all official members of shared governance groups who attended meeting during their non-work months.
Approval of Notes – June 16, 2020 were approved with adding DASB full report.
Introductions - The new and formal IPBT members were introduced and welcomed.
Meeting Purpose - Start to re-think De Anza’s Shared Governance process and have an opportunity to engage in conversations regarding restructure or having a different decision-making model. At this current, unpredictable, time when everything is rapidly changing, we have the opportunity to plan, anticipate and self-reflect on what might we do differently to be more inclusive and transparent.
Chancellor Judy Miner formed a Consultation Task Force, which included the leads for all bargain units, senior staff for both campuses plus central services.
Espinosa-Pieb reminded everyone that the Chancellor’s request was to meet the November 1, 2020 deadline to consider possibly consolidating/eliminating some programs.
As of today, there is roughly a $11.5M potential district-wide deficit. De Anza’s share would likely be $5.5M. Enrollment for summer and fall is strong.
The goal of this task force is to come up with some criteria to consider in thinking about possible consolidations.
Governance Review – First Steps
This meeting, specifically, is to answer 4 questions that Lloyd posted for the PBTs .
IPBT members read, discussed and added feedback collected on the Google form and then entered the combined feedback to Dr. Holmes' form.

DASB Report - The 2020-2021 DASB Senate will be having its first meeting on July 29th, in the form of an Executive Meeting. The President and Vice President of the college will be joining to introduce themselves and discuss DASB’s goals for the upcoming year. DASB website was updated with the current contact information and committee’s webpages.
