Announcements
3% Midyear Deficit – The district will likely have a midyear cut that will be covered out of current reserves. This amount then will be deleted from the amount set aside for next year’s carryover.
IPBT Update – Classified positions at Foothill. There are 11 people from Foothill who will receive lay off notices, nine have bumping rights. They have 15 days to review their options after they are notified. There are three De Anza employees set for layoff; two with bumping rights.
Program Review
Updated criteria handout. PRs to be completed by the first of April and will be presented to the Board in May.
Proposal to develop standard criteria, using CAS (Council for Academic Standards) as the model. LeBleu-Burns will provide the information for discussion at the next meeting and will send electronically. Consider using the information when preparing the Comprehensive PRs.
Discussion followed regarding additional areas that need to prepare a PR.
Accreditation Update
De Anza is on notice. The commission will visit in October 2012 to review work that has been done on SLOs, PRs. They need evidence that processes are working.
TractDat (ECMS) will be very important to store data needed for SLOs & PRs.
Program Discontinuance Process
Handout - Reviewed latest draft with changes from the last meeting. The draft will be brought back to the next meeting with the revised language requested.
Classified Senate
Requested an answer to two questions.
1) What are we doing about enrollment for spring and future strategies?
2) Do we have an enrollment management group?
Response – The Deans group manages enrollment
Summary – APRU draft updates, let Haynes know, add SANKOFA and make changes to the SS Viability Review Process (Program Discontinuance Process).
