Approval of Notes: The notes for January 21, 2014 were approved.
Faculty Hiring 2014-2015 FY Results:
The handout, The Final Outcome for Faculty Ranking for 2014-2015, was distributed and examined. Espinosa-Pieb informed the members that the ranking list would be taken to the College Council on February 13, 2014 and a request would be made to immediately approve the top 7 positions.
Once approved the hiring process can move forward.
She announced that we would likely be able to hire 9 positions if additional retirements come in by the end of March 2014.
The retirements that come after April 1st, 2014 would go to “The Faculty Hiring List 2015-16” next year. Espinosa-Pieb confirmed that it does not mean that any of those programs would be eliminated. FTEF from those positions would be given to part-time faculty.
Espinosa-Pieb distributed the original, confidential ranking sheets that the members ranked individually last week and asked them to compare numbers with the final outcome spreadsheet.
Espinosa-Pieb clarified the process of vote counting and confirmed the numbers and some particulars. The members confirmed that all their numbers were correct.
Espinosa-Pieb reminded everyone that the IPBT votes determine whom we are hiring, as an institution, each year.
