I. Approval of Agenda and Notes: The agenda was approved for January 12. Notes from January 5 were approved with the following addition under Section IV, Review of Divisions’ Scenarios:
Intercultural/International Studies—When considering the elimination of some of the courses in this division, consideration must be given to cross-listed courses that can affect other divisions or programs.
II. Enrollment Management Tutorial: C. Espinosa-Pieb presented a tutorial on enrollment management to facilitate a better understanding of how the process works. A good discussion around this topic ensued.
III. Questions For Divisions’ “Scenarios:” Questions to be used for the deans’ presentations to IPBT on January 15, 2010 were addressed.
IV. Faculty Hiring: C. Espinosa-Pieb displayed a Faculty Ranking document from the previous year and those determinations were discussed. Six of the thirteen faculty positions had been filled, and it was decided to keep CAOS, Counseling, Speech, Aquatics Instructor/Coach, PE Instructor/Track & Field Coach and Economics on the new list. New faculty hires added to the prioritization list were Accounting, Counseling, ESL, Math (3), and History. The IPBT group will vote on their prioritization recommendation at the meeting scheduled for January 26.
V. Meeting on Friday, January 15: The process for the Friday’s meeting was disclosed. The deans will present in the morning, and the IPB team would work on their budget recommendations in the afternoon.
