About Me
Teaching for over 20 years in 3 different departments Mr. Avera has dedicated his life to helping students grow academically, personally, and professionally. He was a former director at a large social service agency, facilitated over a 1,000 small groups and trained numerous community organizations in the field of domestic violence and mental health. His research interests are in positive psychology, resilience, identity formation, and the intersection of Eastern & Western thought.
