Study Abroad Classical Music Benefit Concert
This benefit concert supports the Study Abroad program. Performers include Joe Gold; Carl Blake, DMA; and Debbie Dare.

Program:

1. Sonata in E Major. G.F. Handel

3. Five Humorous Pieces: H.Leonard

Rooster and Hens. In the Dark Forest. Cat and Mice.

Donkey and Driver. Serenade of the Bellicose Rabbit.

4. Nobody knows the Trouble I've Seen. C. C. White

5. Levee Dance. C. C. Whit

Joe Gold (Virtuoso Violinist) has been praised on four continents for his brilliant interpretations of the great repertoire for the nineteenth-century violin virtuosos of Paganini, Sarasate, Bazzini and others. Gold is a graduate of the University of Southern California and a former student of the legendary Jascha Heifetz. This is his sixth benefit concert for De Anza College.

Carl Blake, DMA, (Piano) holds three degrees in piano performance: a bachelor's degree from Boston University, a master's degree from San José State University, and a doctorate from Cornell University. Blake has performed to critical acclaim three times in the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, as well as L’Hermitage (Winter Palace of the Czars, St. Petersburg, Russia). He has toured the world as artistic ambassador for the United States Department of State. Currently, Blake serves as director of music of The Church for the Fellowship of All Peoples in San Francisco. Blake is also featured on the Noontime Concerts website.

Debbie Dare (Narrator) is a violinist with an international reputation. She was first violinist in important state opera orchestras in Germany. Returning to America, she formed the Pro Musica String Quartet and The Divertimento Ensemble and performed with them in musical capitals of the world. She has soloed with orchestras in Bulgaria, Austria, Germany and Mexico.
