This event will feature guest speaker Elder Shaykh Alauddin ElBakri. The goal of the event is to build community through conversation and reflection of Eid Al-Adha, an Islamic celebration centered on sacrifice for the good of humanity. It is celebrated by nearly 2 billion Muslims across the world. The event will focus on experiencing conflicting emotions due to the humanitarian crises happening across the world. How do we approach such challenging situations? What can we do to help those suffering across the world?
About this Islamic celebration: The Festival of Sacrifice Eid al-Adha is one of the most important festivals in Islam. It honors the faith and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim, who was willing to sacrifice his son for God. The actual date for Eid al-Adha this year is June 17.
