"Searching for Justice: Life After Lockup"
3/13/2024
1:30 pm to 3:30 pm
Multicultural Center Activity Area
Attend a film screening and discussion panel of the PBS NewsHour documentary, "Searching for Justice: Life After Lockup," which focuses on the many challenges individuals face after incarceration – from reconnecting with family, to finding work and housing, to staying out of prison or jail. Formerly incarcerated and otherwise justice-impacted students are in our communities, on our campus and in our classes.
Learn about the issues and challenges impacting students and how we can better meet their needs. Following the film screening, there will be a panel of students, alumni, staff, faculty members and administrators who will answer audience questions and share their experiences of being justice-impacted. A robust discussion of strategies and support will take place so attendees can work on forming an inclusive campus community and assisting our students in reaching their academic goals.
The event is open to all and refreshments will be provided. Employees can receive PGA credit for attending.
