    Business Item 4

Discussion on Articulation and Transferability of Classes

Description: This item is to discuss articulation and transferability of classes on the Senate. This item seeks to gather feedback, as well as any concerns related to these issues.

    • Isaac T wanted to take classes at De Anza but they wouldn't be transferable and would need to take the course at a different campus.
    • Izat R courses such as CS classes, issues with quarter and semester courses such as the assembly course (21JA) does not articulate at De Anza due to quarter system.
      • Data structures somewhat artculates at De Anza; If you take the 22C course at Foothill it fulfills the UC requirement.
      • De Anza Engineering: 35 statics transfers over from Foothill but De Anza's was rejected for articulation.
      • Umme: Why do some courses transfer over at Foothill and not De Anza?
      • Virinchi: For economics majors many courses not offered at De Anza/not articulated such as Macroeconomic Theory of Stats, Microeconomic Theory, Probability & Statistics for Economists. Many are forced to do business economics when some do not prefer it.
      • Benjamin F: De Anza AP score credit does not always count unless it's a 3 or higher however at UCLA you need a 4 or 5.
      • Discussion continues over transferability and articulaiton of courses at Foothill vs De Anza.
      • Virinichi: Foothill has connections with out of state schools such as Cornell; would be nice for De Anza to have more bridge pathways for out f state schools.
