WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP
(Grades 6-9) (7605)
This class will teach students how to process visual information in order to create realistic images. Students will learn to see and render contrasting values, patterns and the shared edges of positive and negative shapes. The class will cover watercolor techniques such as wet on wet, dry brush, and flat, gradated and variegated washes. Cultivating patience and developing a personal style also will be emphasized. This course is offered through the Euphrat Museum of Art.
Instructor: Lydia Sanchez is a visual artist and art instructor working in the Cupertino Union School District, at West Valley and Muir Elementary Schools, and the Euphrat Museum of Art. She encourages children and youth to use their imaginations and express their own ideas about the world around them.

This course is designed to start students on a path toward future studies in web development and design – even if
they have little experience or technical knowledge. Students will spend time designing, building and publishing their own websites, as they begin to learn the big three web languages: HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The class will also introduce students to the basics of how the internet works and important concepts of internet safety.
Instructor: Eya Badal is a longtime software engineer who is currently pursuing an advanced software engineering degree. She has a knack for making difficult topics understandable.
