Stanford Summer Community Collge Premedical and Research Programs (SSCCPP and SSCCrP)

The Stanford Summer Community College Premedical Program (SSCCPP) targets current community college students considered low-income and/or underrepresented in medicine providing exposure to medicine and health through topics in health disparities, leadership challenges in health provision and administration, science success strategies, professional development, clinical exposure, successful preparation for the medical school application process, postsecondary and graduate/professional school financing.  

  • The research program is a full-time day program Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week for 7 weeks.

  • The premedical program is a six-week, full time program, Monday-Saturday with evening

    programming as well.

  • Participants who successfully complete the program will receive a stipend at the end of the summer.

YESUCSF Summer Internship with Y.E.S: Youth Equity Service Fellowship Program

Wed, March 6th 12:30-1:30PM

Join us for the info-session for an internship opportunity at UCSF. Through a six-week paid internship, students will develop the skills needed to pursue a career in the life sciences by working with a mentor in a QBI lab at UCSF.

The program will include the following; 

  • Mentored internship at a QBI laboratory  
  • Selected participants are paid $22/hour 
  • The length of this fellowship is 6-8 weeks over the summer (tentative dates available upon participant that is chosen)

Dr. Yvonne Darlene Cagle is an astronaut for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and consulting professor for Stanford University’s department of cardiovascular medicine and its department of electrical engineering. Dr. Cagle currently is the chief scientist for the Level II Program Office of NASA’s Commercial Reusable Suborbital Research program. She was assigned as Stanford’s lead astronaut science liaison and strategic relationships manager for Google and other Silicon Valley programmatic partnerships. Her groundbreaking work is preserving NASA legacy data while galvanizing NASA’s lead in global mapping, sustainable energies, green initiatives and disaster preparedness.
