Medical Laboratory Technology
A.A. Degree
The A.A. degree in Medical Laboratory Technology is a 24-month course of study (including summers) that prepares students for
a career as a medical laboratory technician through classroom study and supervised clinical training. The MLT program provides students with a quality education that complies with the established standards and guidelines of an accredited laboratory training program. Graduates of the degree program are eligible to sit for a state-approved national MLT certification examination.
Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion, students will be able to
• Pass a state approved national medical laboratory certification
exam
For the major, complete the same prerequisites and requirements listed for the Medical Laboratory Technology Certificate of Achievement-Advanced (see above) and meet De Anza’s A.A./A.S. degree requirements.
MUSIC
Music
A.A. Degree
This A.A. degree program provides a foundation in music for students interested in a career in the musical entertainment industry or pursuing a bachelor's degree in Music. Students are encouraged to take private instruction (not provided by the college) each term along with classes in their specialization.
Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion, students will be able to
• Demonstrate, through successful public performance,
a synthesis of technique, memory, musicality and stage
presence in both group and solo presentations
• Demonstrate proficiency equivalent to national lower-division
curriculum standards in music literacy for all historical periods,
grade or better.
