  • To view Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) requirements, visit the UC General Education Requirements page.

  • To view California State University General Education/Breadth (CSUGE^) and IGETC requirements, visit the CSU General Education Requirements page.

  • General Education Certification Request Form [PDF]
NOTE: GE Certification is an official document sent directly from De Anza College to another institution verifying the courses/exams applied to CSUGE^ or IGETC. Certification is not an automatic process.

Upon enrolling in final required courses and receiving conditional admission to the University, students must submit the certification form to the De Anza College Admissions and Records Office.  All necessary documents (including non-Foothill/De Anza college transcripts, Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), College Level Examination Program (CLEP)) must be received and evaluated by De Anza College prior to this request.  The certification process may be delayed if transcripts/exams have not been previously submitted and officially evaluated.

^ IMPORTANT NOTE:  De Anza College requirements for CSUGE/Breadth certification differ from the requirements identified by the CSU and from the information published on ASSIST.  In order to qualify for certification of CSUGE at De Anza College, students must complete the CSUGE requirements as stated on this Web site or in the De Anza College Catalog.

Disclaimer:  The final responsibility for successful transfer rests with the student.  The information posted on the De Anza College Transfer Planning Web site is designed to assist you in obtaining the most accurate information possible.  However, this information is subject to change without notice, which may subsequently impact your admission to the University.

Students are encouraged to meet as early as possible and periodically with a counselor or academic adviser both at De Anza College and at the transfer institution to confirm your choice of classes and to develop an education plan for transfer.
