Teachers may choose their presentation from any of our current full dome show titles as follows:
School year show times and days - any school day between October 3rd, 2016 and June 9th, 2017
10 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. (Monday to Thursday) or
10 a.m. 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. (Fridays only)
Summer Field Trip show times and days - between June 12th and July 27th, 2017
10 a.m. (Monday to Thursday) or
10 a.m. 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. (Fridays only)
Group discount admission fee: $5 each for students, $5 each for adult chaperones, aides and teachers.
The Fujitsu Planetarium is closed during school observed holidays and breaks. Field trips are only scheduled Monday to Friday - sorry no field trips are scheduled evenings or weekends.
Our presentations lasts about 1 hour and 10 minutes and include a featured full dome show, "Tour of the Night Sky" and "Question and Answer" segments. Presentations for younger astronomers may last an 1 hour or less.
All groups must have 25 or more in attendance to reserve. We will be happy to accommodate groups with less than 25 however preferred date and time may not be available. Maximum seating capacity is 139 seats.
Payment is due in full the day of field trip at check-in, we accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, School checks payable to: De Anza College Planetarium, and cash collected in one lump sum. No deposit is required to reserve a field trip show.

Provide the following information:
A confirmation/invoice, general information sheet and campus map will be emailed when your reservation is placed on the field trip calendar. Groups should arrive at Planetarium building at least 10 minutes before the start of show to check-in and pay admission fees. Allow plenty of time for parking and walking to the facility from parking lots or bus drop off area. Due to the nature of our shows, and for safety reasons, we are unable to seat late attendees once lights have been dimmed down.
Because of the closure of the Flint Center Garage for the 2016-2017 school year, parking lots will be greatly impacted. When visiting the Planetarium during the week, please allow at least an hour before the start of your show for parking.
Carpools (all cars require parking permit which must be displayed on dashboard): Use the parking structure in Lot C, the planetarium building is located across the pool area opposite to parking lot C. Day permits cost $3.00 and are valid for the entire day. Purchase from yellow permit machines located on all lots. Machines accept one dollar bills, coins and credit cards.
School busses: Drop off areas are located in either Parking Lot C near parking structure and in parking Lot E by Science Center Building. Buses are not to drop off students off the frontage road. Once students are dropped off buses may park across the street behind the Oaks shopping center.
Public Transit: VTA Buses that serve the De Anza College Campus area are lines 23, 25, 53, 54, 55, 81 and 323
Thanks to the generosity of Private Donors and Foundations, the Fujitsu Planetarium at De Anza College is offering discounted ticket admission for the 2016-2017 school year to any grade level student enrolled in a Title 1 School who is visiting the Planetarium as part of a school field trip.
Title 1 School Admission Price is $ 3 (applies to any student or adult seat)
To qualify for reduced admission attendees must:
Currently be enrolled in a Title 1 school in any grade level.
Be visiting the Planetarium as part of a school field trip.
School must fall within the 15th percentile or above for free and reduced lunch.
Teachers please notify our office staff of your school's current percentile for free and reduced lunch when booking your reservation.
Don't use your cell phone or camera (video or picture) inside while the show is in progress. Shoes with flashing lights distract from the presentation – students will be asked to remove them while inside or if possible we ask that they not be worn the day of field trip.
Do Keep Quiet: There are classrooms adjacent to the Planetarium, we ask that all students keep their voices down while they wait to enter and after they exit the Planetarium - if your group arrives earlier than your schedule time, plan a quiet activity such as reading, while you wait. Do not bring play equipment such as jump ropes or balls on campus – we greatly appreciate your cooperation, thank you.
Do use Eating Areas: Your group is welcome to eat their snacks or lunch on the cement quad located next to the Planetarium, the grassy area next to the library, the tables located in the campus center or at Memorial Park, which is located across the street from De Anza as there is no eating, drinking or gum chewing permitted inside the Planetarium Facility. Please plan accordingly on rainy days unfortunately all of the eating areas suggested are not covered.
