Help for San Jose Flood Victims

Thousands of San Jose residents -- including some De Anza College students -- were forced to leave their homes during recent flooding. Many will return to find extensive water damage to their residences, cars and belongings. Now local groups are working to provide assistance.

You can help by donating to the American Red Cross or to a special San Jose Flood Victims Relief Fund. The Silicon Valley Community Foundation created the fund to help pay for assistance by several groups, including the Red Cross, Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County, Sacred Heart Community Service and the Salvation Army.

  • Read more about the relief fund at this website.

  • Donate directly to the fund through PayPal.

  • You can also donate directly to the Red Cross.

  • The San Jose Earthquakes soccer team is collecting donations for flood victims here.

UPDATE: The city of San Jose has established a website to help coordinate  cleanup efforts and other neighborhood relief programs. Register here to volunteer.
