Summer 2013 Construction Projects


Improvement Project Required Detours Around Main Quad

The Main Quad was closed for construction this summer, with major detours in effect.

Important details regarding the detours:

  • Main Quad FountainThe campus could not be crossed, in any direction using the Main Quad
  • The Main Quad entrances to the Library and Campus Center were closed. Access to the Library main doors was from the south side ramp. Access to the Campus Center was through doors on either side of the building (the northeast entrance, and the west entrance by the patio).
  • The Administration Building could only be entered through the rear doors after following detour signage.

The construction improved disability access to to the center of the campus. This phase of the Measure C bond-funded campus improvement plan was completed prior to the beginning of fall quarter.


Mary Avenue Pathway and Landscaping Improvements

Construction on pathway and landscaping improvements around the Mary Ave. 

Disruptions were minimized as much as possible during the construction. The project was completed prior to the beginning of fall quarter.


Funded through Measure C, project work includes

  • Mary Ave. EntranceConstruction of a sidewalk from the campus side of the Mary Ave. entrance to the bus stop by Staff Lot A for increased student safety, convenience and access to public transportation
  • Reconstruction of the stairway entrance to the A Quad to improve disability access
  • Landscaping and irrigation updates for additional sustainability improvements

Accessibility and lighting improvements to the campus' Main Quad will begin after the opening of summer session. More information will be provided. Check the Measure C webpage for updates.
