Whose Culture Has Capital?

An Exploration of Latinx Cultural Wealth

For De Anza Classified Professionals

Friday, April 21, 9:00 to 11:00 AM

Thursday, April 27, 1:30 to 3:30 PM

In the MCC (Multicultural Center) Conference Room

Latinx students come to campus with strengths that sometimes go unacknowledged.  Join us for an interactive workshop where, with the help of our students, we’ll explore the specific challenges today’s Latinx students face.  We’ll counter the deficiency model by focusing on Latinx cultural wealth, assets that include: aspirational, familial, social, linguistic, navigational and resistant resources.
