Riot Grrrl Series: Dance Party

Hang out and listen to JMRR staff picks around punk feminism. Folx are welcome to take a more active role, discussing the impact and meaning behind these songs, or just socialize and listen. If music helps you concentrate, it’s totally okay to just come and do homework too.

This is the second in a punk-tastic series of events for our Women’s Herstory/Women in Power Month, hosted by the Jean Miller Resource Room for Women, Genders and Sexuality. This series will focus on the role of punk, and more specifically the work of the Riot Grrrl Collective, in late 20th-century feminist movements. We’ll also discuss ways to bring Riot Grrrl feminism into 21st-century intersectional feminist movements.

See and experience the power of women taking control of cultural production. We’ll learn some history, listen to some music – and make some art of our own. Join us on Zoom!
