Course Information

De Anza College operates on a quarter system with twelve-week sessions beginning in late September and early January, April and June. Application to the College and online registration is available by going to the De Anza College web site.

Students register for distance learning classes using the same process as students in on-campus academic courses. Distance learning classes are equivalent to regular on-campus classes in credits, transfer, and eligibility for financial aid.

Schedule of Classes
Check the schedule of classes to find out critical information about your course.

Course Syllabi and Instructor Web Sites
Many instructors have online syllabi, or web sites with information specific to individual courses.

Online Orientations
For many courses online or on-campus orientations are required. Refer to De Anza Schedule of Classes course footnotes o see if a particular class has a required on-campus or online orientation. Information on orientation dates, times, places and deadlines is provided through the Online Orientation link on Distance Learning website, as it becomes available usually 2 weeks before the quarter starts.

Other General information:

Adding a Class. Add codes may be available from the course instructors after the first day of instruction. If you are on the wait-list for a class, check the specific syllabus or orientation requirements to see how instructors would add you. If the instructor decides to add you into their class you will get an email with the add code to proceed.

Wait-listed Students. To add a class you must attend the on-campus orientation/first class meeting if the class has any required. It will be determined at that time, if space is available in the class. For classes that do not have an on-campus meeting, contact the instructor for space availability.
