Mentors for Youth EmpowermentAs a follow-up to the Youth Voices United for Change conference in the fall, Mentors for Youth Empowerment ( MYE) is a program that matches De Anza College students to 10 high school sites, where they facilitate civic engagement projects and help build a roadmap to college with the youth. The main objective is to have youth realize they can make a difference within their own lives and t he community. Students will select a problem they want to address, strategize a civic project that can work to resolve the issue, and implement the project with a goal of presenting the work they were involved in at next year’s YVUC conference.
