Program Overview


De Anza College is located in Cupertino, California, the heart of Silicon Valley.

Approximately 400 students per week attend classes to explore automotive technology or further their careers through our programs, which are NATEF certified with seven full-time ASE certified faculty.

A career in the automotive industry is within your reach with the help of the De Anza Automotive Technology department.  Several Associate in Science (AS) degrees and multiple certificate programs are available as well as smog license Level 1 and Level 2 training and an alternative fuels program. The De Anza automotive program prepares a student for a highly specialized carrier with one of our many regional employers. Auto tech students learn in depth theory and essential hands on repair techniques for combustion engines, emission controls, OBD systems, brake systems, transmissions, suspension, steering, wheel alignment, engine machining, and high level electrical systems. Our facility is updated with the latest tools, equipment, and curriculum available to provide you with a relevant learning experience and valuable job skills. We help you to obtain skills in problem solving, diagnosing mechanical systems, efficient repair methods, and a thorough understanding of automotive electrical and mechanical systems. The De Anza degree and certificate program also prepares you for various employment opportunities such as an automotive technician, service manager, or research and development areas.  Graduates of De Anza automotive technology are among the highest paid and most sought after automotive employees in the Bay Area.
